Our first football training and a Modern Dance competition

On Sunday last weekend we made our first experiences in playing football with the kids being supported by our project IriCreArt (The Color of Development creates Art). We divided the group in two different groups depending mainly on the age and made a small tournament (team photos). It was a pleasure to see the kids enjoying this unifying kind of sport. We believe the common football playing will strengthen the whole group spirit, will help the kids to respect rules and authorities (trainer) and keep all sat thoughts aside.

Afterwards we organised an dance competition in which always two children were competing. A coin was thrown to decide over the genre of music and in the end the regarding crowd voted for his favorite dancer. By this “event” we wanted to give the kids a chance to perform in front of a crowd, learn how to present oneself in the public and also make them familiar with basic democratic principles.
Thanks to Germany were we got the money from to buy 2 balls and a pump for the beginning! Enjoy the pictures and look forward to see the video about IriCreArt !

Recently started project IriCreArt gets new dynamic!

Our recently started project IriCreArt (The Color of Development creates Art) was now extended by painting courses being offered to the disadvantaged kids by Kibe, the founder of IriCreArt. Additionally, we now have the possibility to borrow a Ghettoblaster from a friend, so the children of the Atelier can be also taught in Modern Dance. Thanks to the Akagera Business Group, our supporting partner, we can now distribute lunch to the children on Saturday and Sunday. As we get two footballs next week, we will play football together next weekend for the first time! With all these new offers, we make one step further to accomplish our aim of being a secure island for our children who have to struggle with difficulties in everyday´s life . Enjoy the images, there are also some showing new artworks!
